Welcome to AskEd. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of our mobile and web applications, services, and websites (collectively, “Service”). By using AskEd, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use AskEd. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Use of the Service

You agree to use AskEd only for lawful, educational purposes.

AskEd’s tools—including text, chat, scanning, and image-based features—are designed to support your learning, not to replace your own work. You must not use the Service to cheat, bypass academic rules, complete graded assignments on your behalf, or misrepresent AI-generated work as your own.

You must not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app or its APIs.

You are responsible for any data connection or carrier charges that apply when using the Service.

3. Accounts & Data

AskEd may allow you to create a study profile or join collaborative Rooms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials. We may collect limited, anonymous analytics data as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Content & Conduct

When interacting with other users or AI features, you agree not to submit harmful, offensive, or infringing content. We reserve the right to moderate or remove inappropriate material or restrict accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in AskEd (including its code, design, and educational materials) belongs to its developers or licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

6. Feedback

We welcome ideas and feedback. By submitting feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use it to improve the Service.

7. Third-Party Services

AskEd may include links or integrations with third-party platforms (for example, Firebase or Apple/Google services). Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use those services.

8. Educational Purpose Only / No Cheating

AskEd is an educational aid meant to help you understand concepts, practice skills, and learn more effectively. It is not a substitute for personal study, instruction, or your own academic work. You are responsible for following your school’s academic integrity rules. We do not support or permit the use of AskEd for cheating, plagiarism, or completing assignments on your behalf.

AskEd does not guarantee any particular outcomes (including grades, test scores, admissions, certifications, or job results). Your performance depends on many factors outside our control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that AskEd and its creators are not responsible for any academic, professional, or personal decisions you make based on the Service’s content or suggestions.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

AskEd is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. You use the Service at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskEd and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Without limiting the foregoing, we shall have no liability for lost grades, failed exams, missed opportunities, or other alleged educational losses.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in misuse.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
